i had a conversation the other day with a relative - we started talking about death and so on, so forth.
i havent been attending for almost 3 years now and really havent been harrassed too much - just ignored.. i stopped attending meetings for a number of reasons, a few were belief differences which i knew would become trouble, but the main reason why i couldnt attend anymore is i felt fake.
but i felt that people only wanted to associate with me because we shared one thing and one thing only....a belief.
While I feel bad for her, it is her own fault for not marrying a brother
it amazes me how these people read "bible-based publications" all day, study how the pharisees were so hypocritical, say that they practice love more than anyone else on this planet.... AND STILL MAKE ASSUMING AND JUDGEMENTAL comments like that... i wish God would personally smack them over the head with a chalk board eraser every time one of them said something idiotic like that... jesus

the oldest manuscripts are not considered the most reliable.. there are no "autograph" texts.
none.. there are no "original" manuscripts.. no two manuscripts agree.. the bible as we know it only came together in the form it now holds because certain men decided it should do so.. neither jesus nor his apostles or disciples carried bibles.. the apostle paul didn't carry a bible and none of his letters were in any of the scrolls considered holy scripture at the time he was preaching and forming christian theology as it is now understood to be.. largely, what the bible is today, is the result of certain men with certain agendas who had the authority to make their project happen.
they also had the power to destroy writings which did not agree with their agenda.

...now, heres the fun part: the website is run by a faithful jw, and his motivation for publishing these books, is that these books can also be read at "apostate" websites.
i would bet at least ten dollars that this is an official jw website, masked as a faithful servant of jehovah. sometimes it's best to hear some words of encouragement from someone who is in the same predicament as you. if you are an R&F witness reading that, you feel like he is the same as you and maybe even had the same doubts until he "evaluated the evidence." it has to be set up by the FDS

my husband is not.
we both have our own, but my husbands drives a truck, so going to the meetings i nearly always drove because it is my vehicle, i was never talked to about this, but from the 'looks' i got from the elders i know i would have been if we were still there!
i remember a time when a woman would never even say the words 'male' and 'chauvanist' in conjunction with each other... oh the days of yonder whilts thou come again and slay me with thine own something or other? ok im not old enough to remember any such thing... but i do find it a tad imasculating when a woman drives while i passenge. this being said, i am in touch with my feminine side, so a litte imasculation is never a loss-of-sleep matter :)
